Development to destroy sports

When Malaysia performed well in recent Commonwealth games, the government said that they will cultivate more sports activities at grassroots level. To produce the first Gold medalist in Olympics starts with young talents. But young talents needs basic facilities.

But with current development and proposed projects in Klang Valley, looks like its going to be in ash.

Here's my experience:

1. Stadium Merdeka - could be demolished and 'Warisan Merdeka" could be build.
2. KTM Football Field (Jalan Ipoh) - YTL took over and they plan to build a condominium soon
3. SMP Jalan Ipoh - half of the field has one for science lab and the track has been demolished and now being used as car park.
4. Setapak High School - half of the football field was used to build a mosque.
5. Brickfields football field - now being used as florist and barber shops.

This what I have seen in KL. But I don't know how many more to go.

How to build sports culture if you are just focusing on making money and profit.
