Admiral 5A Charity Run - 31 July

After lapse of 1 month, it's my 1st tournament after KL Marathon. I had to sell of my bib for Shape Night as I didn't had much training. Thus, I won't have enough recovery for today's run.

Though I didn't set any target for today's run but my main aim was to get back my momentum. I targeted a modest finishing of top40.

When the race started, I was in the front pack. Then moved on with my pace. At 2nd km, there was a flyover and that separated the faster group from us. Upon the flyover, the route was flat and I knew there will be a U-Turn which marks half way point.

Reaching towards the U-Turn, I started to see runners at opposite direction whom were ahead of me. From there I estimated my position was 19th. Upon U-Turn, I took the drink and increased my pace. I followed Stanley from 2nd km onwards and manage to overtake him at the 6th km.

There after, I never turned back and never allowed anyone to overtake me. When I saw the runners whom were behind me and added with 5km category runners boosted my pace and increased my running speed.

The finishing 1km was challenging as we had to go through the Klang Park which was hilly and upon coming down from the hill, I sprinted together with 5km category guy to the finishing lane.

My placing was 13th with timing of 44:34.24.

A decent finishing though if I pushed more I could have got into top10 with a trophy.

My next race will be the Pacemakers Relay. Hope to sustain my prior year achievement.

A stolen gift now handed over

Datuk G.Palanivel now a full Minister in Prime Minister's Department. He was prevoiusly a Deputy minister in Ministry of Plantations and Comodity. Malaysia is having 2 Full Indian Ministers in the cabinet after lapse of 33 years.

It was announced by our Prime Minister, "Mr.Jibby" in the MIC's AGM. During his father's management, there were 2 full indian ministers and then removed by our "Uncle Sam" together with Mahathir.

Jibby says its a developement for indians in Malaysia to have 2 Indian Ministers but for me, "Bee Ann" goverment stole our rights adn giving it as a gift now.

Damn, he said, estate workers' salary has been increased by RM200. They can't resolve estate problem by just increasing salary when:

1. The schools are not adequately equiped with facilities
2. The people doesnt even has birth certificate or IC
3. No proper permit for schools and temples
4. No accomodation for the workers
5. No proper job for after school leavers

the list goes on....

Arranged Marriage or Love Marriage

Two men, one American and a Hindu Indian were sitting in a bar and discussing about their family problems. Shot after shot. The Indian man said to the American: "We have problem in India. We can't marry the one whom we love.

You know my parents are forcing me to get married to this so called homely and domesticated girl from a village whom I haven't even met once. We call this an arranged marriage. I don't want to marry a woman whom I don't love. I told my parents that openly and now have a hell of a lot of family problems."

The American said: "Talking about love marriages, in America we can marry the one we love. Let me tell you my story. I married a widow whom I deeply loved and dated her for three years. After a couple of years, my father fell in love with my step-daughter and married her, so my father became my son-in-law and I became my father's father-in-law.

Legally now my daughter is my mother and my wife is my grandmother. More problems occurred when I had a son. My son is my father's brother and so he is my uncle. The situation turned worse when my father had a son. Now my father's son, my brother, is my grandson. Ultimately, I have become my own grandfather and I am my own grandson.

And you say you have family problems?"

The Indian fainted.

Who is really "BERSIH"?

At one side, the King gave permission to have it at Stadium.

At other side, the management of Stadium Merdeka & Bkt Jalil did not allow the Bersih team to have their assembly and insisting them to go tho Shah ALam stadium.

To sabotage even further, they stopped the public transport i.e LRT and Rapid KL bus to operate from 10am till 6pm.

Roads coming towards KL were closed.

The Raleigh still went on. 1401 people were arrested and later being released batch by batch.

Our Prime minister was happy that Police really did their duty well. For me only today they were doing good. On other days, they are just "nuts".

Our PM said not many people came out, that means they are against the Raleigh. He didn't know that "rakyat" damn pist off with government that they are really waiting for the next election to vote against the government.

Nevertheless, our Government idiots could not stop overseas Raleigh which went on as per below:

Date: 9 July 2011 Time: 3pm Venue: Malaysian High Commission, 4-1 Hannam-dong, 140-210, Seoul

Date:9 July 2011 Time: 12.00pm Venue: Malaysian Consulate in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney (simultaneous)

Date: 9 July 2011 Time: 3.00pm Venue: Tower of the Sun, Osaka

Date: 9 July 2011 Time: 10.00am Venue: Consulate General of Malaysia,550 South Hope Street,Suite 400, Los Angeles

Date: 9 July 2011 Time: 9.30am Venue: Chrissy Field Picnic Area, Presidio, San Francisco

Date: 9 July 2011 Time: 10.00am Venue: Consulate General of Malaysia, 313 East 43rd Street, New York

The "Bersih" just wanted to do a peace full Raleigh. I don't know why this government people are "chickening" by saying no Raleigh and they are illegal when the King already gave permission to have it.

Who is really "BERSIH" now?

The Handpicked

When we go Pasar malam, we always handpick the best vegetable or fruits to ensure it's the best for us. But that's our rights as we are paying for it.

But coming to a voluntary organisation, there should be some democracy.

This terms area governor for my area was actually a immediate past president of a club. But she failed to lead the club to glory where the club still finished under charter strength. In addition to it, the way she dressed during the Division Contest and Galanight at Penang (certain part were exposed). In addition to it, the sketch that she directed was rejected and not played during KL convention.

This person had so many failures which a matured person should not do, but she was handpicked by the outgoing Area Governor as her successor.

Furthermore, the out going person, was just helpful as it was not. She physically appeared at my club, doesn't know whats going on at my club where I must present the report during the Division council meeting. I never seen her enthusiasm via phone calls or emails except for dues.

Why do we need these hand picked people where democracy was blindfolded?

Langkawi Trip

After months of planting myself in office and also pressured to perform in marathon, It's time to relax.

Since it was quite a last minute trip, I decided to go for local. So we decided to go some where romantic, which is Langkawi.

The best part was, I was not even decided on my hotel. As we landed there, we went to the information counter and got a car. Then we went to the Pantai Chenang beach area to hunt for hotel. Finally we settled with Langgura Hotel.

The hotel was;
-Just nice for budget people.
- water pressure was slow
- wifi only available at reception
- limited space for parking
- need to walk 100M for the beach (no beach view)

We tried variety of food everyday from northern Indian, mamak, seafood, western, pasar malam food, beach side food and fast food.

We were there for 5 days 4 nights. Places that we visited:

1. Laman Padi
Just paddy field. Nice for city people whom never been to village side

2. Underwater world
Experience fishes and sea living which we would only watch on television including penguins. Expensive for RM28.

3. Island Hoping
Good boat ride with high tide and but marred with rain when we were coming back. Nice Crystal clear water.

4. Buffalo park
A lot of buffalo. most of them are from India. If you want to take photo with it, extra RM10. Damn, I can do that at a village. Enjoyed feeding the grass to it.

5. Wildlife park
Had good time feeding birds, ostrich, rabbit, ducks and monkey.

6. Oriental village
Feed the dear and rabbit. The elephant ride is RM100, we just say forget it.

7. Harbour Park
8. Go Cart Track
9. Horse riding place
All these place were just pass by as nothing much to see.

10. Lagenda Park
11. Eagle Bay
These two place is good to take photo shots as it has good landscape.

12. 7 wells waterfalls
The waterfalls has 7 stages. We could only go to the 1st stage as my wife didn't had stamina to go to the top. So I just had nice shower at the waterfalls and came back.

13. Hot Spring
The place was still under renovation, but the hot spring was there. It's good to see a natural hot spring at beach side.

14. Crocodile Farm
What else to expect apart from crocodile. But that stunt by the caretaker was good where he insert his hand into the crocodile's mouth and nothing happened.

15. Black Sand Beach
The sand is black. That's it. the place was dirty. can't bath there.

16. Burnt rice
It's just a corner area which shows the burnt rice place.

17. Kota Mashuri
Mashuri's mausoleum and the house that she stayed.

18. Perdana Gallery
A place where they store all the gift received by our former prime minister, Tun Dr.Mahathir. A real waste to go there unless you are Mahathir fan.

Apart from all this:

1. I tried parachuting for the 1st time
2. I flew in MAS after 8 years
3. Finally spent quality time with my wife which I will treasure it forever.
