The fruit of my hardwork as Division Governor

After working tirelessly for 1 year (even more of includes campaigning and pre-works), It's good to receive the award and more over to be nominated as 1 of the best Division Governors for the term.

Even before I started the term, there were council member resigned from the team. I took to positively, as i already expected huge challenges throughout the term. I had to be like iron-man, to be able to handle may rods at the same time.

There were club closed even without notifying me, members reluctant to come out from their comfort zone or think differently, non-proactive members and even worse, try to bring back issues which happened 2 years ago, so that I will loose focus.

Nevertheless, I had strong friends (i'm saying this because, they lend their shoulder during my challenging time). Division B is a unique division, where you have 29 clubs from 5 states. So special attention need to be given to them.

Sometimes, I will just wonder, why did I put myself into this. But then, to be a corporate leader, you need to go through all this hurdles and made me a stranger person and able to flex my muscle to carry heavier weights.

Putting in the theme at "Breaking Barriers", i broke the tradition of female leaders and became the 1st male leader, 1st gen-y leader and also 1st district podium finisher for the division.

Thanks to my council members, especially, Emil and victor whom gave me the right directions when needed.

I told my team, you would not be a special person, if you merely copy last term's leader, but of curse, some reluctant to change. But I left it to them to gauge their leadership, as true leadership will leave marks and people would remember, even you have vacated the post. Just like Mahathir and Mandela.

Anyway, I have proven to many people, that I too can lead and achieve glory, as tiger woods mum said"let you golf stick to speak". There were even a club member shouted at me during a club meeting, but I was patient and smile, and just thought that "Dogs bark at unknown people and if you keep looking at barking dog, you would not reach your destination".

Of course finally, when you clean your house drain, there will be definitely have few mosquito to bite you, just don't bother and keep cleaning it, else, you house drain would not be clean.

Now I'm happy that I have received the President Distinguished Award and sustain the same feat over least 7 years. Receiving the award from Ramdas Nair and I told him, what ever happened, I have made it. He hugged me and congratulated for the achievement. Thereafter, many wishes from people from North, south and central on the achievement as young leader.

Hero is always a Hero, wherever he goes....

Penang Bridge Marathon 2013 - 17 Nov 2013

I always wanted to take part in full marathon for this event. As usual, kept postponing it, till I got the chance to take part. I made it this round as it will be the last series in the old bridge.

I left to Penang on Saturday at 3pm and arrived around 8.30pm. Then went to hotel to put up and have dinner. While travelling, I manage to get sleep around 2 hours, so that gave me some energy for night race.

After dinner, went back to hotel, to get another hour sleep and finally left to the Jeti for shuttle bus. It started raining around 10pm and was raining til I reached the starting line. The bus dropped us 700M from the starting place, so I had to walk. But it was a good warm up.

The race started on time and my aim was just to complete the race. As the race started, all were fine. I was running in front of 6 hour pacer, so I knew I was not that slow. The rain kept pouring. At least that kept me cool and hydrated.

After the u-turn at Juru toll, there was a food station and they provided cream bun. I just ate the bun and threw off the cream. I was expecting power gel at that point.

Just after few kilometres, I started feeling cramp at my left calf, but I still continued, by jogging and walking. After few more kilometres, my right calf and left ankle was also aching. This made me to walk, the rest of the race. Although there were a lot of ambulance along the way, but my mind was set to complete the task.

Certain time, I took ice cubes for the muscle and realised, that would not work, as it needs to be heated due to cold weather.

It took about 7 hours for me to finish the race. As I reached the last 500M, i tried to jog and push myself. There were cheers and support from other runners whom has completed the race as they told me to "go..go..go", "you can finish it...", "you can do it" etc.

Just after the race, I collected the medal, t-shirt and sat down near soya station.

Points for improvement:
1. Inadequate 100plus stations
2. No muscle cream or spray
3. Improper distance markers
4. Inadequate Breakfast

At least, I feel proud now that I have completed the marathon despite challenges. Next year looking forward to race at new bridge.

Benefits of Drinking Ice water

I made a quick research about ice water as I was about to go into heated argument few days ago. So I decided, lets get the facts before arguing.

1.Ice water can deter the body to burn fat. Of course, cold things will freeze the fat, but you can always drink ice water after your exercise as u have already burn some fats and you wont be burning it till the day.

2. Even when you ave 45 degrees fever, the doctor will put you in ice room to bring down your temperature.

3. Just after your match or sports even, you will apply ice on your muscle to avoid flaming n also if its swollen. An ice bath will immediately reduce swelling while flushing lactic acid out of your body.

4. Ice water could be harm for teeth, yes, but you can overcome it by brushing your teeth with proper toothpaste and also toothbrush.

5. drinking cold water can help lower your temperature back to normal. This can be important in high heat or strong sun, when you risk heatstroke from strenuous exercise. In addition, cold water is absorbed more quickly into your body than warm water, helping you re-hydrate more quickly.

6.When you drink cold water, you will feel cold only for your throat and tongue  but not your stomach. It's because, when it reaches to those part of the body, it's already warmed up.

I have personally seen tennis players, drinking ice water during the game itself.

Finally, if you say cold water is bad, then, people in Scandinavian countries always feel cold
