You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice.”
After a two-year break, it felt great to return to familiar ground—*Powerman*, a cornerstone in my fitness journey and an international event close to my heart.
The running route was familiar, with a slight uphill at the midpoint, while the rest remained relatively flat. Transitioning into cycling, I took my time—perhaps a bit too much—as I fumbled with my isotonic drink bottle, which slipped out of my hand. Thankfully, I had a backup water bottle and energy gels that kept me going. The cycling segment on the highway offered ample space for overtaking, though the flyovers added some challenge with uphill climbs.
Heading into the second run, I made it a point not to be overtaken. Many athletes were clearly battling fatigue. Water tanks placed along the route allowed me to drench myself and stay cool as the sun began to rise. With 500 meters to go, the roar of spectators gave me an extra push.
I picked up the pace, overtook three runners just before the finish line, and crossed with a time of *2 hours and 2 minutes*—far better than my expected 2:15. Just three minutes shy of a sub-2, which remains the next milestone.
Grateful for the experience, the energy, and the finish line. Time to gear up for next event.
