Surprises in the VP line up
Former Deputy Minister, Sothinathan made a come back by topping the votes for VP race. Saravanan scored less 1 vote to Sothinathan, got the 2nd place and surprise candidate, Balakrishnan, who is Johor Bahru MIC chief got the 3rd place.
Much expected, SK Devamany was only placed 7th.
The results were supposed to be announced at 9pm on Saturday. Nevertheless, Saravanan wanted recount after close finish. It was speculated Jaspal Singh was placed 3rd then. The recount began at 11pm and ended at 5.30am on Sunday.
I'm not sure if it's a real strong line up, as out of top 5 post, only 3 of them are MP and in the cabinet. Scholar like Devamany was out-stead, whom were more vocal and speaks with relevance.
Sothinathan whom lost 2008 GE which directly shown him the exit door fro the party management position. Now he has made a come back. Is he really strong?
Let's wait and watch if Indian really have trust in them.

Assess Yourself before telling others
Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin told Pakatan Rakyat to listen to people before rising the pay for Selangor. If he advises that for Pakatan, why not Barisan Nasional do the same before hiking the petrol price, sugar price, quit rent assessment etc.
Why are you playing double standard?

Candidates for MIC VP Post
There are 8 contendars for Vice President posts whom are incumbents Datuk M. Saravanan and Datuk Seri S.K. Devamany (perak speaker), former vice-president Datuk S. Sothinathan, treasurer-general Datuk Jaspal Singh, former MIC Youth chief Datuk S. A. Vignes-waran, Johor treasurer Datuk S. Balakrishnan and businessman James C.S. Selvaraja.
Although the incumbents are tipped to retain their post, but will Indian will ever again trust MIC. Or will MIC could change their style of management or still going to be under the shadow of UMNO.

It's time to FAM to be changed
Football association of Malaysia need to be revamped. How long are we going to be dependent on politicians and royalties. In addition, those who are in the committee/association are not ex-nationals or corporate leaders.
We need someone like idris jala or tony fernandes or george koshy to lead the association. Simply blaming coach is no longer relevant. If Calude Leroy can guide cameroon and angola to world cup, why couldn't he do the same for Malaysia.
The players need to buck up rather than being childish and money minded. Nest, the selection of the team/players need to be more prudent, rather than going in on a recommendation basis.
If shebby can develop a team which can narrowly loose to Malaysia few years ago, just within a short span, it clearly shows our Management has a lot of has lack of governance. How many Malaysians are playing abroad now? Can anyone name it or is there really anyone?

Good Bye Rajagobal
Finally, Football Association of Malaysia has agreed not to renew the contract for K.Rajagobal (indirectly sacking him). He served the national team since 2008 where he guided the SEA GAMES team for it's 1st gold medal in 20 years in 2009 and 1st ever ASEAN Cup title following year and thereafter Asian Games quarter finals with a injured team.
But recent performance in world cup qualifying, Asian Cup qualifying and also failing tom defend ASEAN cup title has made a strong mark on him. Of course, we cant blame solely on him for the poor performance, because, he has good and proven track record before this.
Rajabobal's contract ends on 31 December 2013. Till then, there are no tournament or matches involving the senior team. Ong Kim Swee will be the caretaker for the national team till FAM gets the right candidate.
For me, Rajagobal was a "turnaround king" as he turnaround the national youth and senior team for above achievements. In addition, in local league, he also has turned around Selangor, Kelantan and also PKNS.
A coach should only stay in the team for maximum of 3 years, thereafter should just leave diplomatically. Rajagobal should go to overseas club or national team to coach them and prove his worth.
Rumors saying, the replacement could be Philippe Troussier (former Japan, South Africa and Nigeria coach), Radojko Avramović (former Singapore coach), Bob Houghton, recent head coach of India, Robert Alberts (coach of sarawak). There are 30 candidates applied for the job (foreign coach) and 29 candidates for local coach.

Lesson from a donkey
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off! MORAL : Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up. Remember the five simple rules to be happy: 1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive. 2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happens. 3. Live simply and appreciate what you have. 4. Give more. 5. Expect less from people but more from yourself. You have two choices... smile and close this page, or pass this along to someone else to share the lesson

2nd place in District Evaluation Contest
It was always my dream to go and be podium finisher in the District contest. It's my 2nd time taking part at District level. Apart from winning, my aim was not to repeat the mistake i did in Penang Contest 2 years ago. Thus, I was very cautious about it.
There were total of 10 contestants and I was the second contestant to speak. Thinking about it, I had experience being 2nd contestant in the club level and 1st contestant in the area level. Thus, that gave me a bit of confidence. I knew I only have extra 3 minutes apart from the normal 5 minutes preparation.
Thus, I took a gamble, of having acronym of "CRAP" and "ER" as my evaluation points. While in the room, I just went to the corner and started to recap and rehearse on house I should present the speech.
When I was called, I want up the stage with full gear and when I shook hands with contest chair, Azizah. Just as I started, audience was laughing and the laughter got better. That boost my confidence and push to perform better. As I saw the yellow light, I knew I need to close it and when i finished my last sentence, the red light was on. At least I knew i was confident that i would not be disqualified.
As I finished the speech, thunderous applause received from the audience and I walked out from the stage confidently.
Thereafter, I went out from the room, so that i can relax my mind. As the announcement of results goes, there were 1 time disqualification. I was just hoping it would not be me.
3rd place name was announced and it went to Kyle Tham from Division W. 2nd place winner...stronger drum roles please..said the Azizah...It's Meyyappa Manickam !!!!!!
Wow...I made it...1st podium finish. I hugged Emil, then Dr,Thila. It took me at least 3 minutes for me to reach the stage as people. shaking hands, hugging and congratulating me.
Of course the winner was Robert Ram whom was the final contestant. Some said, he ha advantage to prepare for more time. But nevertheless, when comes to contest, you need to be prepared for every situation.
I took it with open heart. Just after the events concluded, it took half hour for me to get out from the hall, as people were taking pictures with me. That's where I realised my real value.
Now I can proudly says that I'm one of the best evaluators in the district.
I would like to thank Emil, Victor, Ariff, Shanker, Hadzrin and Bernard for giving me valuable input on methods to evaluate.
