District 102 Speech Contest

Tough moments don’t last but tough people do.

Last weekend was one of the busiest weekend for me. On Friday, I had to host my company’s Hari Raya celebration, which was witnessed by more than 500 pax. Followed by the District level speech contest (National Level), where I took part not one but 3 contest.

Guest what??? I won the evaluation contest . It was my 3rd District title and as icing on the cake, I was placed 2nd for Table Topics Contest (Impromptu Speech) & that makes 7th podium finishing overall.

I was against some great speakers. Nevertheless, in my 16 years of being a member, I had to perform one of a toughest/most challenging evaluation (literally I had to crack my brain to think). The test speaker gave his 100% effort, which made all the contestants a tough task to perform for the evaluation/feedback.

Though for speech contest I wasn’t placed, my message captured the audience and made a powerful impact in them.

But the one whom was more exited was my son, whom were jumping joy after seeing my name being announced. That feeling beats any other titles.

Finally, on Monday, I was moderator for one of panel session which had 3 corporate CFO which was jointly organized with CPA Australia.

I have lost to rookies, newbies, and younger members than me. But it was merely chapter of a story. Many more chapters to come.

When you Fall, Get up and Keep Going. One Day, you shall reach the pinnacle.

United's Loss a Gift for City

Manchester City won the 2020/21 premier league title even without touching the field. Manchester United whom were trailing 10 points behind, needed to win or draw the match. Unfortunately, United lost 1-2 to Leicester, which makes united to remain 2nd at 70 points with 3 matches to go. City with 3 matches more is with 80 points.

Obviously, United complained with tight fixture of 3 matches within 5 days, which includes Europa League semifinals.

With the win, Leicester strengthened the grip at 3rd place, though Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool do have chance to be in top 4.

 https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2021/05/10/pm-whole-country-under-mco-from-may-12-june-7

Entire country will be on MCO from 12 May till 7 June.

There goes Hari Raya celebration. One of the major point for SOP was not to have any open house (previously was limited to 20 pax).

There shouldn't be any house visit or crematorium too.

The only flexibility is  we are allowed to travel within the district regardless of the distance and for KL, we can travel within the entire territory.

With 3rd wave cases are spiking day by day, the Bazar Ramadhan has also been cancelled.

Lee Zii Jia nailed it

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvtmYL5-gzc&t=2s

While people were questioning who will be Lee Chong Wei's successor, and today we knew it.

Lee Zii Jia won the All England Singles title by beating the 2nd seed Victor Axelson, whom were also the defending champion and 3 consecutive times finalist.

Earlier Zi Jia defeated the top seed, Kento Momota, which was definitely a great booster for him to enroot to final and create a personal history.

The 1st set was a nail biting finish, where the score ended at 30-29 (sudden death point). Both players were playing tireless, with great shots and net play.

The 2nd set would have favored Zii Jia, should have have capitalised the 17-14 lead, nevertheless, Axelson used his experience to win the match 22-20.

The 3rd sent appeared to be 1 sided, where Axelson, appeared to be tired, nevertheless, Zii Jia, was on full throtle and the match ended 21-9.

After Lee chong Wei, Hafiz Hashim, Tan Aik Huang, Eddy Choong and Wong Pen Soon, Lee Zii Jia continues the glory and named himself into the elite group.
