Good Bye Rajagobal

Finally, Football Association of Malaysia has agreed not to renew the contract for K.Rajagobal (indirectly sacking him). He served the national team since 2008 where he guided the SEA GAMES team for it's 1st gold medal in 20 years in 2009 and 1st ever ASEAN Cup title following year and thereafter Asian Games quarter finals with a injured team.

But recent performance in world cup qualifying, Asian Cup qualifying and also failing tom defend ASEAN cup title has made a strong mark on him. Of course, we cant blame solely on him for the poor performance, because, he has good and proven track record before this.

Rajabobal's contract ends on 31 December 2013. Till then, there are no tournament or matches involving the senior team. Ong Kim Swee will be the caretaker for the national team till FAM gets the right candidate.

For me, Rajagobal was a "turnaround king" as he turnaround the national youth and senior team for above achievements. In addition, in local league, he also has turned around Selangor, Kelantan and also PKNS.

A coach should only stay in the team for maximum of 3 years, thereafter should just leave diplomatically. Rajagobal should go to overseas club or national team to coach them and prove his worth.

Rumors saying, the replacement could be Philippe Troussier (former Japan, South Africa and Nigeria coach),  Radojko Avramović (former Singapore coach), Bob Houghton, recent head coach of India, Robert Alberts (coach of sarawak). There are 30 candidates applied for the job (foreign coach) and 29 candidates for local coach.
