MCO is extended

https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2020/04/24/stay-home-longer-malaysians

The MCO has been extended till 12 May, while Singapore has already extended it till 1 June.

Though overall trend is coming down, nevertheless, we are not at a stage where it's zero death nor zero new cases. Thus, the National health department and National security department will continue to monitor the situations.

For me, even if the MCO has been lifted, it's going to be a new normal, as we can't go back to our previous lifestyle immediately. Examples could be, no public events, people goes to offices on batches. Thus, it will take some time for things to subside.

Hope things will be good for our future.

To take it or leave it

I was reading this article which had the ways to handle criticism.

Whenever I watch the reality programs like American Idol, Britain's Got Talent, Raja Lawak, the judges gives their feedback based on their observation. They were given the role as they have achievement in their field and they have their own success stories, including fan following etc.
Sometimes, opinions can defer among the judges, nevertheless, it's for the contestant to take it or leave.

Even Vishen Lakhiani gave his feedback on F&B products like Milo and Nutella. He have his opinion, which might have some valid points. Should the organisation feel it's valid, they can take it or just leave it. Anyway, Milo has come out with less sweeter version for Malaysian market. They were able to take the pointers as constructive criticism.

Obviously everyone wants the sweet, nice, positive feedback. But when the negative feedback comes, it can be taken in various ways. It's common to hear people talking bad. However, negatives feedback are here to build and not to destroy someone.

Should the feedback has a point, improve on it and get yourself better. That's constructive. The 2nd type of feedback is fake feedback, which was merely thrown to someone, so that his/her image gets tarnished. The information could be fake/untrue/baseless. For a person whom get highly emotional tends to get back/attack/defend the feedback. One thing that the person forgotten was, this feedback is merely to divert the attention, so that the the victim would not be able to focus on whatever he/she is pursing and attacker gets the advantage of reducing the competition. There's no need for the victim to prove/defend/answer himself, as it merely get's his value to reduce, As the saying goes "Never argue with stupid people, they will beat you by experience"

In the movie Dangal, when the coach goes and complaint to the association President about Amir Khan giving instruction to the daughter, the President merely will say 2 statement, "Why isn't she listening to you(coach) then" and "even spectators are also giving instructions and shouting & cheering, are you going ask all of them to keep quiet ?"

End of the day, you can't shut everybody's mouth. People will still comment regardless you do bad or good. So long you are on the right mindset with ethics, governance and integrity. Diamond only comes with heavy pressure.

Swamy Vivekananda said " Along the way to your destination, you will have dogs barking at you. You won't reach your destination, should you start barking at each and everyone of them" and "Dog barks at only unknown people".

Going International

While my passion on public speaking grew for the last 10 years, it was just a dream.

“Rise in your mind and you will rise in your world.”
― Matshona Dhliwayo

It was definitely an International Weekend during last 2 weekend.

1st, I had a chance to be part of the Toastmasters team which had members attending from 20 over countries. In addition, it was given the honour being the evaluator for one of the American speaker, which was all new experience for me.

The meeting was also graced by Sara Khan, International Speaker.

The following day, I conducted an hour talk on Public Speaking for a non-profit organisation via online, which had attendees from 10 countries across 4 continents.
It was my maiden solo online talk to international audience.

Last Sunday I had my 2nd session with the international crowd, this time, including USA.

Sometimes I just feel, you need to keep yourself moving and no one else will come and push you for your progress.
May the MCO keeps pushing us beyond boundaries.
