Personal Builder

Focus on the people whom builds and supports you, and you shall move ahead. This quote really suits/worth it for me because, a mediocre mind merely look at the weakness and attacks indirectly, nevertheless, the worthy ones really challenges and builds you.

Recently when I was invited to conduct a workshop, which was attended by people across the country, I manage to capture not the attention of the audience but became their influencer. Of course, there were many other comments, and I could capture this which capture my attention.

While empty vessels makes more sound, in Malay they call it "Otak Udang"-prawn brain and worse thing, "Udang Gantung" - Hanging prawn. Prawn itself has less value and its head has no value , that's where it becomes garbage.

So, just focus on people whom moulds you and creates to make you better.

Thomas Cup & Uber Cup 2021

The delayed Thomas & Uber cup is finally slated for this year in October. The draw has been out and for the Thomas cup team whom is seeded 6th is drawn in Group D with Japan, Canada and England.

As usual, Malaysia is expected to reach quarterfinals, at least as runners up. Nevertheless, the the real challenge is in quarterfinals, where they are expected to face China, Indonesia or Denmark. previous season, they lost in quarterfinals to Indonesia.

In addition, the former Olympic silver medalist doubles pair, Goh V Sehm and Tan Wee Keong has announce to go separate ways, which cause weakness for 2nd doubles pair. While we are confident with Lee Zee Jia and Aaron and Wooi Yik, but we still need strong 2nd singles and 2nd doubles.

Wonder, when will Malaysia be capturing the trophy.

 https://www.facebook.com/malaymaildotcom/posts/1930250423813616

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin finally resigned. After much pushbacks and negotiations, all plans have failed and his teams also became a public mockery.

Now, it's on king's hands on the option of new Prime Minister. The candidates are :

1. Ku-Li

2. Ismail Sabri

3. Anwar Ibrahim

4. Mahathir (he wants to die as PM 😂

5. Zahid Hamidi

Today Is the D'Day

While Covid cases is no where of going down, the political crisis increased where Ministers are resigning, part of UMNO leaders(Najib&Zahid's team) are pulling out support from Prime Minister and other part of BN members i.e MIC, MCA and UMNO (Sabri's team) is supporting current prime minister.

The current prime minister has lost the majority. Should he continued with parliament in September, he is in high risk of being thrown out.  Thus, he has meet with his party members yesterday (Bersatu) and he's meeting the ministers now. Let's see what happens.

Two faced

True friends

Good friends are someone whom is around with you, regardless you are winning or loosing situation. In year 2010, the team lost in group stage of World Cup, but they came back strong to qualify for finals in Euro 2012 before loosing to Spain. However, in 2014, they failed to qualify to knockout stage again in World Cup and lost in quarterfinals in Euro 2016, to make it worse, they didn't even qualify for 2018 world cup. No, they have won the Euro together.

It's Coming Rome

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rX4gJGKDkQ8

4 years ago, they couldn't event place themselves as one of the best European teams and failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Now, they came as underdogs for Euro 2020 and captured the title. The team doesn't have big stars compared to Belgium, France, England, or Germany.

They are now 34 matches unbeaten. They have already captured 4 world cups and now they got their 2nd Euro.

The entire tournament, they only let 4 goals, all coming from knockout phase.

At least after, Matteo Berrettini lost in Wimbledon, it didn't make Italy to loose 2nd time on the same day in England.

Positive Wednesday

I received this from a Whatsapp group Chat. Great thinking, especially for sports person.

Counterfactual Thinking*

Have you noticed that a bronze medalist is generally more happy than a silver medalist at the end of the game.

Its not incidental finding but proven fact in many research studies after studying reactions of silver medalists vs bronze medalists!

Ideally, a silver medalist should be more happy than the bronze. But, human mind doesn't work like mathematics.

This happens because of phenomenon of counterfactual thinking.

A concept in psychology in which there is human tendency to create possible alternatives to life events that have already happened, that would be contrary to what happened.

Sliver medalist thinks, "Oh I couldn't win the gold medal." Bronze medalist thinks, "At least I got a medal."

Silver Medal Is Won After Losing, But Bronze Medal Is Won After Winning.

This happens in our life also, we don't appreciate what we have but feel sad with what we don't have. Let's be grateful for our blessings, they far outweigh our problems if we start counting.

Life Is After All Full Of Choices, Do Always Count Your Blessings To Stay Positive & Motivated...

During my 1st year in university, I represented my university  in National University Games. It was the event 1500M and with parade of 20 athletes across the country. My target was at least to push myself into top 3. Tried my level best and ran heart out, and I could only finish at 4th, just 1 meter behind, the 3rd placing winner.

Obviously I was sad, for 2 reason, 1 that I failed to win a medal and next, to get my university at the podium. I went to apologies to my coach and promised him to work harder.

He told me, why apologizing? There's no reason for you to feel sad. In fact You should feel happy. Doo know why ?

-There are so many students applied to be in this university and they weren't successful

-Even after getting into the university, many wanted the Accounting course, but they weren't successful

-Even after getting the course right course, not many was selected to be in the university athletics team

You got all this done.  Furthermore, you didn't finish at the last spot. So, you should be happy.

Only then I realised, I should be happy for what I have received and achieved. Of course, in life you can improve/upgrade yourself, but never feel sad/bad with someone else's achievement or making them as your comparison.

District 102 Speech Contest

Tough moments don’t last but tough people do.

Last weekend was one of the busiest weekend for me. On Friday, I had to host my company’s Hari Raya celebration, which was witnessed by more than 500 pax. Followed by the District level speech contest (National Level), where I took part not one but 3 contest.

Guest what??? I won the evaluation contest . It was my 3rd District title and as icing on the cake, I was placed 2nd for Table Topics Contest (Impromptu Speech) & that makes 7th podium finishing overall.

I was against some great speakers. Nevertheless, in my 16 years of being a member, I had to perform one of a toughest/most challenging evaluation (literally I had to crack my brain to think). The test speaker gave his 100% effort, which made all the contestants a tough task to perform for the evaluation/feedback.

Though for speech contest I wasn’t placed, my message captured the audience and made a powerful impact in them.

But the one whom was more exited was my son, whom were jumping joy after seeing my name being announced. That feeling beats any other titles.

Finally, on Monday, I was moderator for one of panel session which had 3 corporate CFO which was jointly organized with CPA Australia.

I have lost to rookies, newbies, and younger members than me. But it was merely chapter of a story. Many more chapters to come.

When you Fall, Get up and Keep Going. One Day, you shall reach the pinnacle.

United's Loss a Gift for City

Manchester City won the 2020/21 premier league title even without touching the field. Manchester United whom were trailing 10 points behind, needed to win or draw the match. Unfortunately, United lost 1-2 to Leicester, which makes united to remain 2nd at 70 points with 3 matches to go. City with 3 matches more is with 80 points.

Obviously, United complained with tight fixture of 3 matches within 5 days, which includes Europa League semifinals.

With the win, Leicester strengthened the grip at 3rd place, though Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool do have chance to be in top 4.

MCO 3.0

 https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2021/05/10/pm-whole-country-under-mco-from-may-12-june-7

Entire country will be on MCO from 12 May till 7 June.

There goes Hari Raya celebration. One of the major point for SOP was not to have any open house (previously was limited to 20 pax).

There shouldn't be any house visit or crematorium too.

The only flexibility is  we are allowed to travel within the district regardless of the distance and for KL, we can travel within the entire territory.

With 3rd wave cases are spiking day by day, the Bazar Ramadhan has also been cancelled.

Lee Zii Jia nailed it

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvtmYL5-gzc&t=2s

While people were questioning who will be Lee Chong Wei's successor, and today we knew it.

Lee Zii Jia won the All England Singles title by beating the 2nd seed Victor Axelson, whom were also the defending champion and 3 consecutive times finalist.

Earlier Zi Jia defeated the top seed, Kento Momota, which was definitely a great booster for him to enroot to final and create a personal history.

The 1st set was a nail biting finish, where the score ended at 30-29 (sudden death point). Both players were playing tireless, with great shots and net play.

The 2nd set would have favored Zii Jia, should have have capitalised the 17-14 lead, nevertheless, Axelson used his experience to win the match 22-20.

The 3rd sent appeared to be 1 sided, where Axelson, appeared to be tired, nevertheless, Zii Jia, was on full throtle and the match ended 21-9.

After Lee chong Wei, Hafiz Hashim, Tan Aik Huang, Eddy Choong and Wong Pen Soon, Lee Zii Jia continues the glory and named himself into the elite group.

Who will win Europa League

While Man Utd had a dismal draw last week against AC Milan at Old Trafford, nevertheless, they still have their odds to win the title.

Their closest rival would be Tottenham and Ajax as other don't seem to be stable/consistent on performance.
