Within Span of 2 weeks, 2 major news sparked for the current ruling party.

Gerakan came back to PN after exiting the BN in 2018. Having lost all the state and central seats in GE14, the multiracial party whom were once has stronghold in Penang has lost people's trust. even when previous President Mah Swee Keong was only MP in previous GE13 (with win through bi-election).

With formation of PN and TSMY has invited them to the party and got it sealed on recent virtual CNY celebration.

yesterday, former minister and UMNO Perlis state liaison chairman has given opinion to open the door for Tun M to be back to UMNO, of course with conditions. It was also supported by UMNO veteran , Ku Li, where they felt, with his inclusion to the team/party, the party hope to gets it's stronghold and people's trust for GE15.

While PN's aim is for Malay Muslim government, on other side, there's a faction between UMNO itself, where a pact is supporting TSMY and others wants UMNO to exit PN and stay as BN.

While MCA and MIC still appears to be weak and Sabah BN component parties has proved they are gaining momentum with recent win in state bi-election.

Even Ku-Li had his won party called Semangat 46, and thereafter the party joined UMNO. Thus, with current status of Malay based party which has 5 of them (UMNO, PAS, Amanah, Bersatu and Pejuang), they hope, they could reduce the number of parties and re-unite the malays. Furthermore, with rejection by ROS on registration of Pejuang, Tun M and his team would definitely need an umbrella to represent and contest for GE15, which would be expected to be held upon dissolving the emergency committee.
