Barisan Nasional tasted their 2nd win and 1st time wresting the title in Semenyih. The fundamental message was, PH was not doing anything or nothing drastic was done for the people.
Fundamentally, people should take note that, the current government only took over less than a year ago. We can't compare them to previous government whom were there for more that 60 years.
Next, BN placed a BN friendly candidate and not a representative from UMNO (although, he could joining them soon). It's the 2nd time they are doing it after Cameron Highlands. It just proves that people still hates racial based party and UMNO' image still not revived.
In addition, their component parties, MIC and MCA is still super weak with only 1 seat each in the Parliament.
Furthermore, the UMNO president has not assume his Presidency post nor resign from the post. The are still running with co-driver i.e Deputy president.
Of course, when Mahathir said, PAS would not interfere but it appears that PAS did assist BN, especially to gain the Malay support.
Next, the winning majority is less than 2K, compared to 9K of previous winner, thus it's still a close fight rather than a landslide victory.
Next battle will be Rantau, and The acting President will be the candidate. Now, PH needs to field a strong candidate, else, it will be a sign of change of wind.
