True friends
Good friends are someone whom is around with you, regardless you are winning or loosing situation. In year 2010, the team lost in group stage of World Cup, but they came back strong to qualify for finals in Euro 2012 before loosing to Spain. However, in 2014, they failed to qualify to knockout stage again in World Cup and lost in quarterfinals in Euro 2016, to make it worse, they didn't even qualify for 2018 world cup. No, they have won the Euro together.

4 years ago, they couldn't event place themselves as one of the best European teams and failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
Now, they came as underdogs for Euro 2020 and captured the title. The team doesn't have big stars compared to Belgium, France, England, or Germany.
They are now 34 matches unbeaten. They have already captured 4 world cups and now they got their 2nd Euro.
The entire tournament, they only let 4 goals, all coming from knockout phase.
At least after, Matteo Berrettini lost in Wimbledon, it didn't make Italy to loose 2nd time on the same day in England.

Positive Wednesday
I received this from a Whatsapp group Chat. Great thinking, especially for sports person.
Counterfactual Thinking*
Have you noticed that a bronze medalist is generally more happy than a silver medalist at the end of the game.
Its not incidental finding but proven fact in many research studies after studying reactions of silver medalists vs bronze medalists!
Ideally, a silver medalist should be more happy than the bronze. But, human mind doesn't work like mathematics.
This happens because of phenomenon of counterfactual thinking.
A concept in psychology in which there is human tendency to create possible alternatives to life events that have already happened, that would be contrary to what happened.
Sliver medalist thinks, "Oh I couldn't win the gold medal." Bronze medalist thinks, "At least I got a medal."
Silver Medal Is Won After Losing, But Bronze Medal Is Won After Winning.
This happens in our life also, we don't appreciate what we have but feel sad with what we don't have. Let's be grateful for our blessings, they far outweigh our problems if we start counting.
Life Is After All Full Of Choices, Do Always Count Your Blessings To Stay Positive & Motivated...
During my 1st year in university, I represented my university in National University Games. It was the event 1500M and with parade of 20 athletes across the country. My target was at least to push myself into top 3. Tried my level best and ran heart out, and I could only finish at 4th, just 1 meter behind, the 3rd placing winner.
Obviously I was sad, for 2 reason, 1 that I failed to win a medal and next, to get my university at the podium. I went to apologies to my coach and promised him to work harder.
He told me, why apologizing? There's no reason for you to feel sad. In fact You should feel happy. Doo know why ?
-There are so many students applied to be in this university and they weren't successful
-Even after getting into the university, many wanted the Accounting course, but they weren't successful
-Even after getting the course right course, not many was selected to be in the university athletics team
You got all this done. Furthermore, you didn't finish at the last spot. So, you should be happy.
Only then I realised, I should be happy for what I have received and achieved. Of course, in life you can improve/upgrade yourself, but never feel sad/bad with someone else's achievement or making them as your comparison.
