This is my 1st night race for the year.
I left my house at 6.15pm and took 1 hour to reach there. The weather was really humid. I just wonder how the marathon runners could take it. I took part in 10k as I ont have enough mileage coverage and dont want to do too much of long races.
As I was warming up, I met Kei Ming and hot girl from CIMB. We were warming up together. As the race started, I was with leading pack as most good runners were in the 21km and 42km category. Thus, I was in the top 10 from the beginning.
I paced a red shirt guy. I started to feel thirsty at first 3km itself and stopped at all water station (3of them) to drink. Never in my life i did that for 10km run.
Apart from that, I thought, It will be a flat route. But after 2km, the disaster started where there were 3 hilly situations occurred.
Damn, I felt like there's fire at my buttox. It was burning. There were no proper distance marker. Therefore, I didnt know what was the distance left. Untill the final juntion, I heard the chinese drum players, Thus i started to increase my pace and finished the race with bang.
My timing was decent with 42:17 with 6th placing. Missed by 3 places for trophy.
Hope to do better in Cap Ayam race on 18th Apr.

MCA Election Results
President:
Dr. Chua Soi Lek - 901 votes (Current Deputy President)
Ong Ka Ting - 833 votes (Immediate Past President)
Ong Tee Keat - 578 votes ( Current President)
Deputy President :
Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai - 1171 votes (Ong Ka Ting's man)
Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha - 1,106 votes.
Vice-presidents:
Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen - 1528 votes
Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai - 1469
Datuk Chor Chee Heung - 1202
Gan Ping Sieu - 1202
My comment:
We have witness that good man cannot last in politics and how's the breakage in the party itself.
Though the President and Deputy is not from the same team, but let's see if they can work together.
But Chua Soi Leck is not MP, thus he need to be sworn as Senator if he wants to be Minister.

KL Towerthoin
I was preparing for the compatition, but after the cramp last week at Bareno Run. I was a bit cautious about my calf.
Thius I wnet slow but steady today. As the race started, most of them sprinted, I followed Hamidon from back but come the straight raod at the top hill, he blasted.
At the stairs, I manage to clinb 4 floors then started walking till the top. But I didnt stop as were done by the rest and also never allowed anyone to overtake me during the climb.
Hope I can get better for the enegizer Run on this Satuday.

Bib Collection for KL Towerthon
Two days ago, I received a letter from the organisers on confirming my participation. They also indicated the bib number and requested me to bring along the letter for the collection of Bib and T-shirt.
Today morning, when I went to the official and showed the letter, they requested for the reporting card hich is atteached with the collection of number slip which was issued during registration. They said that, they dont need have that letter which was posted to me 2 days ago. Luckily, I brought the card/slip. Else, I need to come back tommorow. What a crap stuff they did. Improper communication btw organiser and technical adviser.
Next thing I realised my friend, Kei Ming's name was not even in the record. He had to wait for more than 1 hour to rectify his registration status. What the heck?
Hope they dont screw up the event on Sunday.

Bareno Run - 14th Mar'10
I'm running after lapse of 3 weeks and I planned to take up shorter distance as I'm focusing on my 1500M for IAFG.
I have run at Bukit Jalil during last year, thus I knew that it's going to be a bit challenging with the hills.
As they started, there were 10 of them shooted to the front and I followed Kei Ming for 1st 200M. Then, I was placed 4th. I realised that most of the good runners were in the 10km and 15km category, thus it made my job easier.
I kept my distance close to the 2nd and 3rd place runners till the big hill before the school. That's where a disaster happened where, my right leg calf got pulled and I had to slow down my run. This made the 5th placing guy to overtake me at the hills. I had to go slow as I couldn't push that much.
Later, my campus Junior Murali pass by me as he was the 15km runner. He told me that there is on 1km left. So I just pushed myself and overtook the guy and get back my 4th placing and shooted till the finishing.
If I never had the cramp, top 2 placing could be in my hand. But. it's alright, I still got a trophy (big and nice). Timing was 24:11.
Taking rest to ensure I can climb KL Tower next week.

Area B1 International Speech & Table Topic Contest
I was aiming to go to Division Contest this year, moreover end my draught as Area Champion.
I started scripting the speech upon Genting Convention and even edited by World Championship 2nd place winner, K.Loghendran. Though I had few only moments to practice as I was stuck with my job. But I have started imagining myself to be the champion.
There were 6 contestants and I was 2 speaker. With the speech title "Which Nut Are You", I was confident of presenting it and I felt relieved and satisfied upon the presentation.
When the results was announced, I got 3rd place. Damn. And I lost to Dennis again. But I gave him a good run for his money. Furthermore, the 2nd place winner was underdog, and was speaking abt Facebook Kidnapping. It was like fact finding report. I don't know how the judges gave the marks.
Then, came Table Topics. It's like share market as you wont know whats going to happen next. I was the 4th contestant. The title was "Think Different".
I don't know what to speak, but I just spoke something. And the results announced, I got 2nd place. and the champion was another underdog, Thiga.
Damn, my hope for the year to represent the area in Division contest just dashed, since only champions will qualify.
The results:
International Speech
1. Dennis Wee (DU ADV)
2. SY Khor (DU ADV)
3. Meyyappa (DKC)
Table Topics
1. Thiga (MAS MELOR)
2. Meyyappa (DKC)
3. Victor Ong (DU ADV)
Whatever it is, I still made some achievements:
1. 2 podium finishing at one go
2. 1st ever placing for international speech in area contest.
3. Beat Dennis in Table Topics (defending Champion was not even placed)
But still the organising was screwed up:
1. No proper timing device
They used iPhone screen as color card but then they got paper. But even the paper was damn light (light green and light yellow). Sometimes, it looks the same.
2. Inadequate role players
The chief judge was also the time keeper. there was only 1 SAA and she was also the ballot counter. The Area Governor said that he couldn't get any one because most of them were booked for other areas. This shows he didn't plan well on his organising matters. He could have just opened the District directory and called someone. he just need 6 people and there are more then 200 members in Klang Valley.
3. No proper signage to the venue
4. Inadequate publicity abt the event
5. certs not printed on time
Whatever it is, we should move forward, and my next aim is the Humorous & Evaluation contest in August.
