Melawati 10km Run -29 Apr'09
Anyyway I wanted to do my best for the run. Upon reaching the runing area at 6.20am, I saw nobody there. It was dark and quiet. I toughtmaybe the evnt is going to be cancelled.
However, at 7am, there were officials there. They started the race at 7.35am. The route covered around houses, then towards the hill side and back to housing area. It was mixture of uphil, downhill and flat road.
I started pacing Sri at the beginning. Upon 2km, he got tired, but i realised Ronnie overtaking me. So I tried pacing him. Then "kuda Tua" overtook me. I just let them to lead me. Finally Hamidon ovetook me and I just stayed 50m behind him till finishing the race.
The sickening part of the race was:
1. No water station at 5km mark. My first race in 2 years finishing without water.
2. had to do 2 "U Turn" towards fininishing. This made the race to be boring.
Anyway, happy to clock 43:33. Hope to do better in the next race.
The organisers colected RM25, but only gave medal, "cheap skate" t-shirt and 100plus, vico upon end of the race. I was expecting food for that amount of money paid.
You know when "M***ys" organise, how they do it. Anyway I ran because of my passion.
My running mates results:
38'35 - Jasni Khairil (4th)
39'01 - Murali Nathan (6th)
41'40 - Naresh Kumar, Pm37 (8th)

Auditor's Life is Crap
I tried not working on weekends, but somehow, the senior made me to work during weekend.
The clients dont understand our feelings. They keep on dragging their submission of documents. This made us to even work later. 2 weeks ago I went back home at 5am. My personal best okay.
Looks like i cant sustain this for long time. see how it goes for my future assigments. I dont know how this partners and managers can work that long hours.
Now I trealise that most of them in my firm is not married. No wonder lah!
The crap thing about auditors life:
1. You dont get enough sleep (only 4 hours per day)
2. You loose hair
3. You gain weight because you eat alot and dont exercise
4. You get stressed easily and start to shout at your loved ones
5. You get paid peanuts.

Dennis Found That Shark

We got our MAIDEN division champion from Area B1.
Dennis Wee who presented the speech entitled "Find That Shark". He overcame stiff competition from other title contender, Eugene Ng, D'Utama, Area B4 who had to settle down for 1st runners up. 3rd place went to Lee Mei Foong from Crystal TMC, AreaB5.
Dennis represented Deloitte KassimChan TMC for International Speech and D'Utama Advance TMC for Table Topics. He received thunderous of applause and hugs from the audience upon the announcement of the results.
He started the speech with Dr.MLK's speech and followed with "sushi kin" as example to stress the message. He finally ended the speech in his way of MLK speech.
Although he wasn't placed in the Table Topic Contest, he did put up great fight against season campaigners such as Dominic Joseph, Gerald Quinten, and G.Sivalingam.
It was even ostentatious the championship was witnessed by Distrct Governor, Joseph Gomez and District LGET, Ritchie Chong.
Hope this championship will spur more chapions from our Area.
"Begin, The Rest Is easy"

Meyya

Wild Wild Run - 8th Mar'09

It was relatively new track for me and I was in progress of gaining my fitness level back to shape. Started well by maintaining my pace and leaving the elite runners i.e Richard, "the Kenyan", Naresh, Jasni and Murali to lead the race.
It was cold for 1st 2 laps but still I could feel the tiredness. I took water at every lap except for the last. I aimed for 4th position in myucatefory as there 3 of the elite runners were in my category. Since the race started, I never allowed anyone from my category to overtake me. Even "Kuda tua" overtook me at 2nd last lap.
Thanks to Chen Kiat Hong, who paced me for the final lap. I felt staisfoed upon the race and moreover coming back with the trophy. Hope to do better in Bukit Jalil Race on 15th.
Greetings from Area Governor
2/3 of the term has ended and left with only 117 days before the curtain closes. Hope the fire in you is not "put off". Recently, I went to my home club for Toastmaster meeting. While the meeting was going on, the electricity tripped off and the whole room was in dark. However, our, Madam President, Lai Lien manage to make impromtu decision by switching the meeting venue to the next room. Thus prooves that, a person just need the "Will POWER" to achieve to greater height.
Area B1 Contest
Kudo's to Julian Gan(President of UNITAR TMC) forshouldering the burdon of organasing chair for the contest. It was the 1st ever time that UNITAR hosted an area/division event. This has been an eye opener to a lot o students who hadno clue about Toastmasters.

KL Towerthon Challenge - 1 March'09
But I still continued. There were people ushering by saying, "You can do it", "Come On". I could run only for 1st 2 ploors, then I started walking. I was strugling from begining itself. But I just wanted to finish it off.
I realised that 1 floor equals to 4 levels of staircase. When there were only 2 more floors, I was happy, but ended up going for 8 levels of staircase. I saw my timing was 21:19. Way below expectation.
Bur the good news was, my team became 2nd runner up under corporate category. My teamates were Naresh, Guna, Murali and Jaya. We got RM200 each with a trophy, finisher medal and position medal.
The bad part was the hampers where, they only awarded us 2 hampers where actually we were suppose to get each one hamper. when we asked the officials of TM, they said its only 2 hamper per team. In actual story, they wanted to smuggle 3 other hampers. When we asked them, the F***ing lady said " Saya malas nak cakap lagi". Typical habit of goverment staff. For me, its just a donation for them.
Whatever, its a cash winning moment after a long time. Im looking forward to do better in "Zoo Negara" Race on 8th March.
